Now -- the &amp;quot;you might also like&amp;quot; selections look like ones they would have loved, when they were little! (I especially like the looks of the &amp;quot;Under the Night Sky,&amp;quot; but maybe that&amp;#39;s the cover. Isn&amp;#39;t it funny how kids love books with animals in them -- Berenstain Bears were huge favorites, and I&amp;#39;m gradually buying the great-nephews their own libraries of them. And a new &amp;quot;animal addition&amp;quot; is the &lt;a href="http://runtfarm.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt; Runt Farm&lt;/a&gt; series by Amanda Lorenzo, about a group of animals who come together and form a family. The Peep hatches and claims a boy cat as his &amp;quot;mom,&amp;quot; the bunny is adopted, the squirrel (with impeccable flair -- something I never dreamed possible of a squirrel!) is rescued from under a rock -- and two mice who have escaped from an infamous animal research facility. (I wonder if PETA knows of this series!) It&amp;#39;s great fun, and has lots going on behind the scenes, too.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2278289422639396056/7475016300164079092/comments/default/7032246813559301314'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2278289422639396056/7475016300164079092/comments/default/7032246813559301314'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.readingrumpus.com/2009/10/national-geographic-kids-almanac-2010.html?showComment=1255019896977#c7032246813559301314' title=''/><author><name>Liz</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/12553309379795237911</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.readingrumpus.com/2009/10/national-geographic-kids-almanac-2010.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278289422639396056.post-7475016300164079092' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2278289422639396056/posts/default/7475016300164079092' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
